Making Response to Intervention Happen

Overview

The challenge in implementing educational reform should never be underesteimated. This is especially true with RTI. General education teachers and administrators, parents, related service providers and school psychologists will all be impacted by this "paradigm shift." It is critical that all stakeholders are involved in the process when appropriate. The model below is one possible approach to RTI implementation.

1. Understanding the Need for Change

2. Get the Key Stakeholders Involved

3. Draft a District or Organization Policy

4. Create an Implementation and Evaluation Plan

5. Train

6. Implement and Evaluate

7. Modify as Needed and Keep Training
